Where to get PC Parts

We all know you can get computers and upgrades from Comp USA, Best Buy, Sams Club, and Price/Costco, but what if you don”t want to pay big store prices?

Depending on your time frame, I suggest the following possibilities:

• Computer Expos – Only for those who like to gamble. If the hardware is defective, you may not have much luck returning or exchanging it. I once watched a friends brand new motherboard from an expo put on a miniature 4th of july show.
• Order Online – Generally fairly safe, but make certain you talk to a propeller head if you have any questions before ordering. The best approach is to find a specific piece of hardware and the order that specific model.
• Local Computer Stores – Probably your best solution because you can return the hardware quickly if it’’s defective (not common, but it does happen)
